Photo Worthy Moments (in timeline order)
March 12, 2025Here are a list of moments in timeline order of great photo ops and how to prepare for them. Some couples can be on the fence as to whether or not they want to capture certain ‘moments’, it’s your day so you do you, but if you’re on the fence you should probs just do it coz YOGMO (you only get married once). Heres some inspo to look through from each section of the day.
* Getting ready photos *
For me these are always some of the nicest moments in the gallery, capturing that raw emotion of pre-wedding nerves. Followed by a dress reveal to your besties and family members also makes for a great photo. I also love a little accessory flat lay of the shoes, jewellery, perfume etc so I might steal these before you put them on.
* The first kiss *
I know you’re in the moment but if you can remember, try to hold it for more than a quick peck, or even go in for a second kiss. Gives the media team more opportunity to get a great shot.
* Ceremony Exit *
Walking back up the aisle are some of my fave shots too, always remember to walk a bit slower if you can to give extra chance for great photos. Or dance your way out, eve better!
* The confetti shot! *
THE MONEY SHOT! Get the nice big paper confetti for big wow energy. The dried flower confetti doesn’t translate well in photos and it also gets stuck everywhere. Get more than you think and go wild!!
* Couples shots *
Having 10/15 mins to decompress after the ceremony just the two of you is going to be so needed and I’ll just snap away in the background. In my opinion is best to do this straight after the ceremony as if you go off in to your drinks reception you might not be able to escape the wave of congratulations. Of course its your day we can do this whenever but from experience straight after the ceremony works best as then its done and out of the way, and means you have that decompression time together. You don’t want to then run out of time and not get chance / get too squiffy / or get to the stage where you cba coz these photos are important and you might regret not taking 10 mins to do it.
* Fun wedding party group pics *
This can happen either whilst the general group shots are happening or later on in the day after everyones got a few drinks in them. If you have a big, high energy wedding party, then stealing your wedding party away for 5 mins could be a great photo op. Do a champagne spray, get your matching sunnies on, run through the fields, etc etc, just fun photos of you and the besties are never not going to be a good idea.
* Entering the wedding breakfast *
If you’re thinking about doing this, then just bloody do it, everyone cheering and dancing your way in, it’s a vibe, and it makes for great photos so why not!
* Cake cutting *
ALWAYS a big fan of a good cake cutting shot! And tuck in! - feeding each other some cake is great for the photos!
* First dance & Dancefloor *
The first dance is the part that a lot of people dread, but really by that point in the day you absolutely won’t care, you’ll have had eyes on you all day as it is and by then you’ll not be worried about it, and its only half a song and then everyone joins you on the dancefloor. Get the floor filled with all your fave people, and why not also get some confetti canons - always amazing shots and a big wow from the guests. DO ITTT!
* A dress change *
Mixing up outfits ready for the dancefloor might make you feel more comfortable, or maybe you couldn’t decide on a dress so neeeeded to buy both, well do a dress change as it’s a great photo op and also a chance to decompress with the besties.
